Careem in Egypt: The Local Alternative to Uber
Careem is a ride-hailing option in Egypt. Check availability and the quoted fare for your route before booking.
Careem is a ride-hailing app available in Egypt. You can compare its local ride availability and quoted fares with other apps, without assuming one service is always cheaper or better.
Coverage
Careem's official Egypt rides page advertises ride-hailing in Egypt, but we have not confirmed an authoritative city-by-city coverage list. Check your exact pickup and destination in the app, especially outside major cities, and arrange a transfer if no ride is available.
Careem services
- Check the ride categories currently shown for your pickup in the app.
- Review the vehicle details and passenger capacity before booking.
- Check the quoted fare and any additional charges before confirming.
- Do not assume services advertised in other countries are available in Egypt.
Payment & pricing
Compare the fare shown for your route before booking; prices and availability change with location and demand. Check the payment methods offered in the app. Keeping more than one ride-hailing app installed can help you compare options.
Traveler tips
- Some drivers speak limited English — pin your destination on the map.
- Confirm the license plate before entering the car.
- Screenshots of Arabic addresses help drivers navigate.
