eSIM QR Code Installation Guide (iPhone & Android)

The QR code MISR SIM emails you contains everything your phone needs to install its Egyptian eSIM profile: the network, the activation code and the data plan. This guide walks through scanning it correctly and fixing the handful of things that can go wrong.

What the QR code actually does

Scanning the QR code triggers your phone to contact a secure activation server, download the eSIM profile, and install it as a new cellular line. Nothing is stored on the QR image itself — it's a one-time link. Save the email but don't share the QR publicly.

How to scan

1. Open the QR from a second screen (laptop, tablet or a printed copy).
2. On iPhone: Settings → Cellular → Add eSIM → Use QR Code.
3. On Android: Settings → Network & Internet → SIMs → Add eSIM → Download a SIM instead?
4. Point the camera at the QR and wait 5–10 seconds for the profile to download.
5. Name the line "Egypt" and confirm.

Manual installation (if scanning fails)

If your camera won't focus, tap "Enter Details Manually" on the same screen. The email also contains an SM-DP+ address and Activation Code — paste both to install without scanning.

Common errors and fixes

• "Unable to Add eSIM" — you may be offline; connect to Wi-Fi and retry.
• "eSIM Already Installed" — the code has already been used. Delete the old profile or contact support.
• "Cellular Plan Not Available" — your carrier may have blocked eSIMs; check your device is unlocked.
